What is Sciatica?

The term Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs through your lower back, hips, buttocks, and down each leg. Sciatica pain can be very wide. It could be a mild or sharp pain, a burning sensation, or discomfort. Sciatica is usually caused by a herniated disk, bone spur on the spine, or narrowing of the spine. Sciatica tends to affect only one side of the body and causes numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness.
