Slouching is detrimental to your spine’s health. Sitting hunched over at work puts extra stress on the muscles and ligaments that support your back. Over time, poor posture can lead to back and neck problems, which can cause discomfort and chronic pain. If you spend a lot of time sitting, use a cushion or even a rolled towel to support the lumbar region of your back and place it between your lower back and the chair. If you detect that your back or joints are getting stiff, get up and stretch for a few moments throughout the day. Making modest adjustments now can have a big impact down the road.
